On Sunday, August 1 at 5 pm we are pleased to welcome Peter Heller, author of KOOK: What Surfing Taught Me About Love, Life, and Catching the Perfect Wave. Also in attendance will be pro surfer (and local eco-warrior) James Pribram.

Writing Workshop for Adults
Do you have stories to tell but hesitate to start? Or just need feedback on something new or revised? Experienced and novice writers, come be part of a new writing community.
Our next workshop is scheduled for Sunday, August 8 from 1 to 5 pm. It is hosted by Marjorie Robertson and the cost is $50. Please submit a piece of up to 3,500 words to mpym.robertson@gmail.com by August 1. Maximum of five participants per workshop.

Writing Workshop for Middle Schoolers
Are you telling yourself stories in your head? Do you dream of writing books like the ones you love? If you want to learn how to make the stories in your head live on the page, join us in our first creative writing workshop for middle school writers. The first workshop will be on two Saturdays: August 21 and 28, from 1 to 3 pm and will be led by Julie Brickman and Deidre Woollard.
You can sign up by emailing Julie at juliebrickman@gmail.com. Please include a paragraph about why you want to be in the group, a page of your own creative writing, and a list of your three favorite books. By August 14, please submit up to three double-spaced pages of your own creative writing by email to Julie. These will be distributed to all participants in the workshop. Space is limited to a maximum of eight participants. The cost is $50 for the two sessions.
W. Bruce Cameron Event
On Sunday, August 22 at 6 pm we are pleased to welcome W. Bruce Cameron, author of A Dog's Purpose. We will be donating 10% of the cover price of all books sold that day to The Pet Rescue Center in Mission Viejo.
